Life Skills

“Life skills are abilities for adaptive and positive behavior that enable humans to deal effectively with the demands and challenges of life.”

WHO

Life skills Education is incorporated in the school curriculum at SRCS with the aim of development of educational support services and empowering youngsters to engage in and cope successfully with life and its challenges. The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 recommended incorporating life skills as a part of the curriculum, taking into account the view that education must go beyond academic outcomes to focus on the holistic development of our future generations.

The various ways in which different life skills help us cope with the increasing pace and changes of modern life:

  • Helps to find creative ways of problem-solving and decision making
  • Helps to identify the impact of our actions and take responsibility
  • Builds confidence in interpersonal communication and makes room for group collaboration and cooperation
  • Helps to develop empathy, a greater sense of self-awareness and appreciation for others, self control over emotions

Our school has proudly partnered with Lxl Ideas School Cinema Programme, which is a pioneering film-based learning programme that supports Social-Emotional Learning, Life Skills, Mental Well Being and Social Skills. As a ground- breaking pedagogical experience, life skills through cinema is a powerful value- driven tool to convey ideas, internalize learning and create impact.
